Network, Video and Wireless Support Technician

We are located in central MA and are looking for a Wireless, Video and Network Support Technician. This is a temporary to permanent hire role for the right individual. As a Network, Video and Wireless Technician, your day-to-day responsibilities will require you to provide support and implement customer’s networks in a dynamic environment. Following the lead of a Senior Network Engineer. Customer service, quality of workmanship and rapid deployment of products are our strengths. We are seeking a qualified and experienced technician that is searching for a career opposed to a job. Any candidate with that desire should possess a level of leadership, independent thinking, organizational skills and drive to succeed. In addition to that, the candidate must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. This position will require travel, with most of the travel being in the New England area.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Applicable candidates will have a minimum of some experience in wireless and network support. You will be working out of our office in Lancaster, MA supporting our customers. Successful candidates without the experience necessary and knowledge will be expected to put in extra time and effort to get certifications.

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate working knowledge of networking and wireless. Have knowledge of all cabling environments from Category 3 cable through Category 7 cabling, including Fiber Optic Installation. Previous work history must convey a level of commitment and dedication. Individual should be able to work independently and perform tasks assigned with minimal supervision. Candidate must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

The following is an overview of the criteria that a candidate should posses:

    • Strong computer skills and troubleshooting knowledge
    •  Knowledge of the deployment and certification of voice/data cable is required.
    • Knowledge of use hand and power tools (drill, screw gun, saw, and etc.)
    • Knowledge of construction of buildings is a must.
    • Voice and Data Termination Tools required.
    •  Network design, configuration and troubleshooting experience required.
    • Wireless LAN and WWAN experience is a plus. Ruckus, Fortinet, Meru, Aruba and other manufacturer experience a plus.
    • Outdoor wireless PTP and PTMP equipment knowledge a plus.  Cambium, Ubiquiti, Exalt, Siklu and other manufacturer experience a plus.
    • Security Video Knowledge a plus.  Axis, Arecont, Milestone and other manufactures an plus.
    • Laptop/PC use is required.
    • Software knowledge of MS Office, DWG, Adobe, and Web Browser is required.
    • Comfortable working on ladders and roofs, required.
    • Tower climbing certification desired, but not required.
    • Lift certification is desired, but not required
    • Blue Print reading and understanding is desired, but not required.
    • Knowledge of PBX/VoIP installation and configuration is desired, but not required.   Ringcentral and cloud PBX knowledge an extra plus.
    • OSHA 10 Hour or higher card a plus.
    • Professional appearance is required.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Clean driving record required.
    • Personal transportation required.

 

This is an hourly position with a target rate of $15 to $25 per hour depending on previous work experience.  The weekly hours will be 40 hours a week.  We can also look at part time too.

Additional requirements are:

  • 1-4 years of relevant experience
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Pass a background check
  • Pass a drug test
  • Must be able to place a 20 pound box on a 5.5 foot high shelf.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for 6 hours a day.
  • Must be able to lift a 70 pound box or item to the height of a 4 feet.
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools without any restrictions.
  • Must be able to climb a step ladder up to 16 feet high.
  • Must be able to climb an extension ladder up to 40’ high.
  • Must be able to walk on a pitched roof.
  • Must be comfortable at height and physically able to climb on a tower.
  • Be able to meet the 300 lb weight restrictions of our ladders (including approximately 25 lbs in a tool belt) to comply with OSHA and our Company safety standards.
